HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – October 23, 2021): A team from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) raided the treasury office here on Saturday a day after arresting the former District Accountant (DAO) in Karachi on the 21st October.

Official sources have informed that the Treasury file regarding the publication of fake pension notes and reimbursement vouchers is under investigation.

The official informed that Magsi and another retired DAO Mushtaq Ahmed Shaikh were among 5 people detained by the NAB in the case in question.

He added that they were together accused of losing billions of rupees nationally by embezzling public funds.

An official for the Treasury official said their office remained closed on Saturday and Sunday, but the NAB team called officers and staff and, in their presence, files were searched and seized.

According to him, the team would have stayed in the office for about 5 hours. Shaikh was arrested in March 2017, at his home.

The NAB raid team had recovered cash and assets of around 1 billion rupees from Shaikh.
